Eight Steps To Living The Life Of Your Dreams
Are you looking for the key to living the life of your dreams?
The follow are my ten steps to living the life of your dreams.
1) Know What Your Dreams Are
If you’re not sure what you want, it’s pretty difficult to reach your goals. If that’s the case, start with thinking about what you loved to do as a child. What gets you excited and what would you do even if you didn’t get paid? Then do some research on the internet. Come up with a list of five things.
2) Imagine Your Best Day Using All Of Your Senses
Feel it, hear it taste and touch it. The more you can get into the feeling space of the kind of life you want the easier it will come into your reality. This will help you get clear on exactly what you want.
What will you be doing?
Who will you be with?
Will you travel?
Where will you live?
What will your body look and feel like?
Example: I wake up in my master bedroom suite to the sounds of nature outside my window. Birds chirping. My sheets are luxurious and soft and I hear the sounds of laughter from my family in the kitchen and smell coffee. As my feet hit the floor of my bathroom I feel the cool travertine under my feet. I feel healthy and strong….etc
3) Start With Where You Are Now…
And do an assessment in the areas of health, relationships, and finances and use it as a jumping off point to an amazing future.
Example: maybe you’ve gained a few pounds over the years. Really take a look at where you are by doing a weight and measurement. We can be in denial at times and not want to face what we deep down know to be true. Without awareness and assessment, we can’t change.
4) Come up with a plan
Example: map out a healthy diet plan and workout routine.
5) Take Daily Action Steps That Are In Alignment With Your Goals
We can all develop some bad habits that are not assisting us to accomplish what we want in life. Take the time to assess whether or not each of your daily habits could be tweaked a bit to be more in alignment with your long-term goals. And follow through with daily action steps.
Example: maybe your eating habits have slipped over the years. A dessert here and an extra meal there. Find out how you can replace this with a conscious effort to eat more healthy.
6) Remove Any Roadblocks To Your Success
It might mean changing your eating patterns or being more disciplined with your daily tasks. There is no better time than now.
Example: Stop buying foods that are bad for you and set up a time to go to the gym.
7) Get The Support Of Mentors And Like-minded People
One of the critical steps to living a dream life is finding people who are already living that life and getting to know them better, even if it means just reading about them or following them on social media. Reach out to people and connect. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. They were once where you are now.
Example find an accountability buddy who will meet you at the gym or for a class or a running partner. Let people know of your goals to elicit their support.
Do whatever you need to do to make the commitment serious. By recording your voice saying “I’m committed to making my dreams a reality and won’t settle for anything less.” And listening to it at least twice a day.
