“How to Fall in Love With Money” written by Bren Koger.
Are you one of those people who hate to pay their bills?
Do you leave unopened statements in a pile on your desk or dread looking at your back account because you’re living paycheck to paycheck and hoping to make ends meet every week?
If this is you, then you might be caught in a vicious cycle of a dysfunctional relationship with money.
Learn How to Fall in Love With Money
There is a way to have a healthier relationship with money.
Through a game, I like to call “Make Money My Honey.”
It involves thinking of money as a person.
Use The Money Guy To Help Learn How to Feel Good About Money
To make it easier, let’s just say money is a guy. Can you picture what he might look like in your mind? What his name might be? Take a few minutes and get a mental picture of this guy “money” in your mind.
How do you feel around him?
Do you feel comfortable around him? Do you think he’s a little evil or dirty
Do you obsess about him and talk about how little he’s in you life to other people?
Does he have a sinister side Always bringing you fear and pain?
You might love your money honey and want money around, but are you always fearful of what he’s going to do next? Like not show up or not stay long enough. Do you feel like he lacks security, is elusive and always playing hard to get?
Is he the type of honey where you never know where you stand?
Now imagine him coming to your house to pick you up for a date.
You’re wondering if he’s going to show up and if he does show up, how long you will have fun because in the back of your mind you are remembering all of the fearful experiences you’ve had with this guy. Like all the times he didn’t show up and caused you pain.
He’s not only caused you pain, but you remember him doing the same thing to your parents when you were little and they would fight about him for not being there or making it difficult to manage him.
Considering all of these feelings, would you meet him at the door with your arms open wide and give him a big hug and kiss
Or would you dread seeing him even though you need him in your life. Would you approach him in a fearful manner and want the evening to end as soon as possible so that you can get back to something you enjoy and makes you happy
The Good Guy
Now try thinking of money as a man that is handsome, secure and dependable; with an exciting quality. He’s easy to be with. You enjoy sitting on his lap. He’s clean and wholesome. Are you excited to see him and spend time with him? You anticipate being around him being a joyful experience. You laugh and have fun with money. You know he’s always going to be there. He’s good and kind. You’re in love with money. You realize he’s there for good and all the good he does for so many people. He’s kind of a superhero money honey.
How much differently would you greet money when he picks you up for a date? Would you run to the door with your arms open wide? Would you feel safe like a best friend/brother/lover all rolled into one?
Money is energy. All things are energy and your feeling about them can affect how much they are in your reality. When we’re anxious or fearful our energy tightens up, our intelligence goes down, and we get this desperate energy that makes us less attractive to things we want. So…
Three Tips To Change How You Feel About Money
Here are a few tips to change your vibration toward money from Rhonda Byrnes:
1) Be thankful when you are paying your bills. Remember all of the good that money does for people, Think of all the people that have benefited from money. The jobs that were created and the fun you had from the experience or things you bought. Think of money as a great energy.
2) When you pay your bills, find a way, any way, to make yourself feel good. Imagine your bills are checks you’re receiving. Instead of feeling fear or a sense of abandonment or lack, visualize and say out loud “I easily and effortlessly pay my bills.” “I am so happy now that Money comes to me in increasing quantities , from multiple sources on a continuous basis.” Or use gratitude and give thanks to the company who sent you the bills.
3) Imagine the front of each dollar bill as the positive side, which represents your money honey and plant of money.
Each time you handle money deliberately flip the bill so the front is always facing you.
Feel love when you pay for anything instead of feeling bad because you have less money.”
The difference between the two is the difference between having plenty of money, and struggling with money for the rest of your life.- Rhonda Byrnes
